Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are included in a population where 98% of the students are considered to be in the high poverty index. Also in that population are students who are considered refugees and/or Immigrants. In order for everyone to be healthy and feel safe in our classroom environment, we need cleaning supplies.
The goal is to not only increase attendance but ultimately, this will make a great impact on their academics and self-esteem.
It is important that these students build on their confidence and feel that school is a safe haven for them. Having clorox wipes to clean their desks and materials everyday and having glade in their classroom, it will make them feel at home and at ease despite circumstances my immigrant students might face outside of school.
