This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds and cultural backgrounds! Our school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in Las Vegas. Students speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Arabic.
Our classrooms focus on problem-solving and strategic thinking through a variety of learning modalities.
Our students love to learn through hands-on opportunities that develop their learning and language skills.
The students at my school are brilliant and highly motivated!
My Project
This project was created for a wireless vacuum to help keep our classroom clean. We are often short-staffed custodians right now and have no night custodians. This impacts the amount of work our custodians can do. Our classroom floors are often not vacuumed and my students have to make sure they pick up all the trash off the floors. A wireless vacuum will save myself and the students instructional time. Students will have more time to work and learn, rather than clean up the floors. I will have more time to plan lessons and prep lessons, rather than spending hours each week picking up the small pieces of trash off the floor.
The iRobot vacuum will be an amazing addition to our classroom because it will be in charge of cleaning the floors, NOT the students!
Students will be in charge of turning it on at the end of the day. By the time I can back from dismissal, the room will already be cleaned.
