Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I love working in this district. Our students come from very diverse backgrounds, and the majority of them come from low income with many educational roadblocks. They come with a lot of background and life experiences that children shouldn't have to deal with. They come with reservations and hesitation, with love, compassion, life skills development, friendships, and clear/precise expectations. My students learn to trust, love, believe in others and themselves, and how to work hard.

We learn how to do hard things and be successful through our hard work.

We don't let our struggles become excuses. We climb the stumbling blocks that often become the crutch to others. Language, economics, family dynamics, learned behaviors are the things that give us character and give us the opportunities to rise above. We are a strong phonics-based room that builds our reading and writing skills through daily phonics practice, critical thinking strategies, and reading comprehension development. We learn our language arts and math concepts that are aligned with the Common Core and by setting a high rigor in the room, my students develop a hunger to learn, think critically, and the application skills to lay a strong educational foundation.

My Project

The markers will help them during the small group work whiteboard activities. Having the assortment of colors will help me know who is contributing to the work and to see the knowledge during the checks for understandings.

Help me supply my classroom with wipes to help keep my classroom clean and germ-free.

I use these wipes every day and it is amazing how quickly I go through them. I want my students to have a clean learning space each and every day, so having these wipes helps me to ensure that they are safe during the Covid Pandemic.
