This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students come from low socioeconomic environments and attend a Title One school. They still come to school eager to learn a variety of new things. They enjoy the various activities and learning experiences throughout the day. They come to school each day with their minds set on learning new tasks!
Our children are curious learners and want to experience everything.
Our Pre-K students are curious, creative and enthusiastic learners. The class community that we have built with our students gives them the confidence that they need to explore and want to learn new things.
My Project
Some of our students are in desperate need of new school uniforms. Some of our children come to school in the same clothing that they have worn many days in a row. Some have holes and are either too big or too small. During our colder days, the children often come to school with no coats and hats or they are layered with two to three small sweaters.
Our pre-k kiddos will focus better and enjoy their day if they have clean and comfortable clothing.
Our goal is to provide a classroom shelf for our students when they are in need. We will provide clothing for the students that have ill-fitting or worn-out clothing. We will provide them with underwear when they don't have any or have worn the same ones for several days. We would also be able to provide the children with socks if they have none or shoes if they have holes in them. For our kiddos who come to school without coats and hats, we will be able to provide them with something to help keep them warm.
