This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a special education teacher in a low socioeconomic Title I school, all the students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. My class consists of 25 students. My kids are faced with many challenges in and outside the classroom. They are academically two years below grade level. Many of my students come from single parent homes. Although my kids have varying disabilities (LD, Autism, ED and Mentally Handicapped), they are eager to learn and succeed. I want to provide an atmosphere that is safe, and welcoming. Help me engage and inspire my students by becoming a partner in their learning.
My Project
I'm teaching my students the importance of keeping their environment clean and fresh.
Since many of my students have asthma and allergies to dust and other environmental pollutants, it's important to keep our classroom as clean as possible.
Clorox wipes are essential in achieving that goal. Cleaning desks and chairs daily help keep sniffles at bay. Along with a swiffer to remove any dust from table tops and shelves. Let's keep our learning environment clean and our students healthy.
Thank you so much for being a huge part of my students academic and social success. It takes a village to raise a child and a community to educate them.
