My students need 24 aprons to keep themselves clean during messy art projects.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Martin's classroom raised $231
This project is fully funded
I teach second grade at a school that is faced with many challenges each year, but accepts them with a positive attitude and a drive to succeed. We are a Title 1 school that has over 40% of the children receiving free and reduce lunch.
Being in California we are being faced with many budget cuts this year. As I'm planning the year, I have included many creative projects that I know will be messy. These kids are going to LOVE them...everything from doing paper mache to making bunny baskets.
However, to do these "messy" projects, I need something to protect my students' clothes. I feel terrible when a student gets paint, glue, or goo on their clothes. You ask...Why don't I go out and get some aprons? Well, that's not possible on my budget and I know these aprons are essential to my projects because they let the children focus on the creativity not to worry on staying clean.
I don't want to cancel these projects because of a simple item such as an apron and I have tried my husband's old shirts...but they're too big. These children are beginning to worry about their clothes getting dirty instead of the fun project we're trying to do. I want them not to worry about their clothes getting dirty. I need a class set of aprons because on some projects we do them as an entire group. Will these aprons be used often this year? YES and they will be greatly appreciated by the students, parents, and their teacher. I truly appreciate your consideration in funding this project! These aprons will give them many hours of creative fun.
