Mrs. Dill from Vicksburg MS is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a comfortable area to read and listen to books that can be cleaned thoroughly, keeping germs to a minimum and a quality set of headphones that can be easily cleaned.

My students come to school everyday greeted by smiles and hugs from their teacher and assistant teacher who are so excited to see them. They know we believe in them and support their goals. We remind them the minute they walk in, everything that may be weighing them down is left outside the door. I try my best to provide meaningful and memorable learning experiences for them.
Despite their many hardships, they come to school eager to learn.
We are a Title One school and one hundred percent of our students receive free lunch and breakfast. Many students participate in our backpack meals program which provides weekend meals for students. Once they're in our classroom, they are able to let their creativity flow and shine academically! They love to move, dance, chant and are able to do their best work in a flexible seating environment.
I have a listening center in a small section of my room where students sit around a small table on a rug that I take home regularly and wash to keep it clean. The table is a little too tall for this purpose and while I do wash the rug regularly, I still worry about daily dirt, germs and student comfort. The headphones at the center are small with earpieces that are not able to be wiped down.
My students need a comfortable area to listen to and read books that can be easily cleaned daily and quality headphones that can be sufficiently cleaned after each use.
A listening center mat with storage and headphones will provide this for my students so they can better enjoy their center and I can worry less about germs. Not only will your donation to this project provide a clean and comfortable working area, you will be helping to increase student focus and increase their academic achievement.
