My Students
Our school is nestled in the community of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. My students come together to learn each day, many speaking English as their second language, from origins all over the globe! They are creative, enthusiastic, and inquisitive learners! I strive to encourage their curiosity with hands-on, project-based study and educational and creative play.
We work hard to foster an environment of respect and collaboration.
Our classroom includes a wide-variety of learning levels and styles, and those differences are acknowledged and celebrated. Each child is valued, not only as an important member of our first-grade team, but as an individual.
My Project
Our elementary schools sits on a major boulevard with cars and trucks driving by all day. We constantly battle allergens, dust, and pollutants. Add in the germs of a terrible virus and the need for an air purification system becomes even more vital. Unfortunately, our 150+ year old school does not have an HVAC system to help us out. And windows that open only a few inches will just not cut it this year. Please help my first graders learn in a clean and healthy setting while keeping illnesses at bay.
