This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a high school serving students in grades 9-12. We are in an urban neighborhood. Many of our students immigrated from another country or are the children of immigrants. Many of my students will be the first in their families to graduate from high school.

My students are college-bound, highly motivated, hardworking and dream of success.

They are awesome! Most are from lower socioeconomic status but have the endurance to make it to 12th grade and most aim to go to college and get a degree. They dream of becoming everything from doctors to teachers to lawyers and entrepreneurs.

My Project

Our school library is currently being housed in a temporary bungalow. Our school is under construction, and as such, there is a lot of dust in the air. In addition, our air conditioners are not very reliable. Our library has a great view of the baseball field, however, this is not great for students with allergies or asthma.

An air purifier will create a cleaner environment for students to learn.

It is also a necessity in light of the global pandemic we are in. Thank you in advance for helping to support my students and public education!
