My Students
About fifty percent of our students receive free and reduced lunch. Many have needs that we cannot always address. So as school funding decreases each year, we are in need of more and more help. In my classroom we cover writing, reading listening and speaking in Spanish. We have a very diverse population of students and I strive to connect cultures daily.
Though the students I serve are underprivileged, they work hard to overcome the stigmas attached to them from their backgrounds and upbringing.
Sometimes we lack resources to keep everyone involved and I feel that if I open the door for them with language, they can walk through. Our school strives to find the leader in all students. Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths. Sometimes all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my class strive for excellence and I want to continue to support them. We need your assistance as we move toward success.
My Project
This product will help make a difference in my students' learning because clean air in the classroom will ensure they are staying healthy. If students are not healthy, they will not be able to come to school. In turn, others will be affected; such as members of their homes. During this pandemic, it is crucial that students have a safe and sterile learning environment to learn in. Students are eager to return to our classroom and I want to ensure that the return is as safe as possible.
This air purifier will be placed in the classroom to help keep the air clean from small particles.
Our doors and windows must be left close to assist our regular filtration system for the school so this air filter will give the added assistance needed to keep our air clean. Students will be wearing masks and using sanitizer, but this addition will help both students and teachers breathe cleaner air. It is critical we all stay healthy so we do not further spread the COVID virus to family members.
