Clean Air Classroom

Help me give my students the benefit of clean air in the classroom. Teachers and parents will feel more comfortable with air purifiers in the classroom during this time of COVID 19.

My Students

I teach a group of second-graders in a traditional classroom. There are students in my class who arrive reading, writing sentences, and doing advanced math. There are others who arrive still needing instruction in letter sounds, holding a pencil, and counting to ten. Teaching a wide variety of abilities is difficult; however, this is a challenge that I look forward to and one that is so rewarding. My teaching philosophy is grounded in teaching each child on their level and is not a one-size-fits-all approach. I use mostly small group teaching and cooperative learning in the class. This lends itself to many project-based learning opportunities, in which students benefit from both academically and socially.

This year will be different and have its challenges, but I am determined it will be great!

In the uncertain time of COVID-19, there are many concerns regarding passing the virus from student to student, student to teacher, and teacher to student during face-to-face instruction. Students and teachers will be wearing masks; however, this does not guarantee safety after prolonged exposure. We will have three weeks at a time face-to-face, one week virtual, and then back to face-to-face, which will benefit the youngest students.

My Project

Parents, teachers, and students are nervous about returning to school during the uncertain climate of COVID-19. If I can ease some of this concern with your help by using these air purifiers in the classroom, this would be great!

The air purifiers I am requesting will be placed at the front and back of my classroom for maximum protection from germs and allergens.

The plan for our school this year will include students in the classroom almost all day including eating lunch in the class. I want this environment to be safe and happy, so my students can learn and parents can feel good about the time they are at school.
