Our Pre-K to 8th grade school is in the heart of a large city in Ohio; a city affected by a 53.9% child poverty rate. We have nearly 360 students who speak over 11 languages and are from all over the city and the world. All of our amazing students receive free lunch.
Our school is in a high-need and low-income neighborhood.
Our students come to school every day eager to learn. Social emotional learning is a huge part of our preschool environment and they are in need of a calming area.
My Project
This is the first year of school for my students. Preschool students spend a lot of time exploring and learning through centers. Their favorite center is always dramatic play. They are able to use their imagination, dress up, and PLAY in this center!
Research shows that preschool students learn through play.
This project will give my students new materials in the dramatic play center to enhance their imagination.
This project would provide updated materials for my class like baby dolls, pretend food, dress up costumes and trains. These are all things that my students LOVE and will ultimately update the materials we currently have.
