My students come from a low socioeconomic background. One hundred percent of my students participate in the free lunch and breakfast program. Our students have a zest for learning despite adversity.
This upcoming school year, My students and I would like to incorporate art into my lessons about electricity.
We want to work on digitally documenting and creating the ultimate maker space in order to create innovations, using various art forms, that inspire my students to use their imaginations and creativity as well as promoting a hands on learning environment.
This school year we have been working with the art medium of clay. We have worked with clay for claymation projects and I would like to add a new dimension to our clay projects. I would like to add lighting, by adding lighting to our clay figures I would also be able to teach my students the elements of building working circuits.
This project would teach my students a creative introduction to the fundamentals of the electrical field.
Hence, We would read the information in the KLUTZ Clay Science Kit to learn how to incorporate circuits and lights into our clay projects. Then we would utilize the clay, lights, coin batteries and copper tape to actually create our own clay projects. I would like to use the San Disk memory cards to document this process and save photos and videos that would be used to share our experience by creating digital stories on Haiku Deck that would share the process and the information we learned.
