Students in my art classes are eager to make, learn and grow. They are sophomores, juniors and seniors who have developed an interest in art by having already taken at least Studio Art I, and signed up for ceramics as a second full year course in the visual arts.
I am lucky to work with the diverse, motivated and talented group of students in my ceramics classes!
They often begin the year with little to no knowledge about Ceramics or 3D art, and leave having created some beautiful and informed works of ceramic art. Their varied backgrounds and identities prove to be a rich source of inspiration and collaboration in the ceramics classroom.
My Project
Students have stories to tell. I would like to bring technology into my Ceramics classroom and I know that students are ready and eager to create using video technology and more traditional clay and sculpture materials. My students are very familiar with digital media and they have technology in their hands every day.
By adding phone tripods to our 3D classroom, students will have what they need to create fun, personal and creative animated videos.
In order to make claymation films, students need to use tripods to hold their cameras still and free up their hands to work on the objects in their sets. The tripods allow them to focus on their work and use tools that professionals are accustom to using in the field.
