This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students love art class and their most favorite medium that I have noticed is clay! Every week, they eagerly enter the art room, ready to explore new artistic mediums. Many of my students come from refugee and immigrant families. We are going to be making a kindness rock garden and my youngest learners will be making their own flower pots to make some beautiful flower arrangements all around!
I'm determined to make sure they have the opportunity to experiment with as many art supplies as possible.
Witnessing the joy and creativity that sparks in my students during art class is a truly remarkable experience. They have an unquenchable thirst for hands-on projects, and clay is one medium that allows them to immerse themselves in their creations. As an art educator, there's nothing more fulfilling than seeing their faces light up with enthusiasm as they mold, sculpt, and bring their unique visions to life.
