Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach at a Title I school where all students come from low-income homes with 97% of my students receiving free lunch and breakfast. I have taught 3rd grade for 6 years and now I have been given the opportunity to run a STEM club. Coming from a strong background in science, I encourage my students to seek the answer to all their extraordinary questions. Every day my students work hard to meet their goals, but not having sufficient material available to them hinders their growth. Having hands-on materials in the classroom can provide a great learning opportunity for ALL students.
We need your help in ensuring these students have the tools and basic foundation they need to be ready to keep up with the changing technology in today's world.
We need your help in creating a love of science, math, technology, and engineering within this generation. We need your help in ensuring students can think outside the box and solve real-world problems. This coding claw will help me spark that love of STEM within all students at our Elementary School.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
