My Students

Within each of my classrooms, there are about 25 students that range in academic levels. Sometimes, I can teach up to 300 students through levelized rotations. The group of students that I have are a fun group that consistently strive to meet their maximum potential. They are comfortable with making mistakes within the classroom and they work hard to learn from those mistakes. My classroom is a safe place for them to learn math. When they struggle, they know that we will work together to overcome any obstacle.

Many of my students come from poverty and the cleanest and safest place that they have is their school.

I want to give my students opportunities within the academic setting that will help them to be their best and to succeed. They need those engagement pieces and they need to feel like they are making a difference.

My Project

With the help of these Chromebooks, students will be able to get the enrichment and remediation that they need to help build those skills in mathematics. Many students struggle with math, when allowing them to work on Classworks or other software similar, they are able to build those skills. Students will also have access to multiple games and free apps that allow them to get to the level in mathematics that is required of them.

Learning is taken to a whole new level when technology is involved.

These students are being raised in a technological savvy era where it is all they know. When given access to learn by what causes the maximum engagement level, good learning is going to happen. Classworks provides the closing of achievement gaps that students have. Gaps are a negative thing when math is involved. Students need to access to be able to get that extra practice that they need. Students who struggle less with math also gain the enrichment to excel above and beyond. This program only provides students with what they need as long as there is technology to back it up.
