Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing our students walk into a classroom with a smile on their face. A big part of that is making sure our students feel proud and excited about their classroom. The pandemic has impacted and changed all aspects of life. The cleaning staff at our school now has added jobs that ensure everything is safe for our students in their classrooms. They now spend much of their day refilling hand sanitizer stations, passing out masks, disinfecting classrooms, and changing air filters on a weekly basis in every classroom. We are asking for one iRobot Roomba to sweep the floor and rug areas when the teacher has to rush out to her classes. It also alleviates some time for our cleaning staff to focus on safety rather than sweeping or mopping.

All students deserve to have a classroom they are proud of, with clean floors, and rug areas where they can sit in community to learn.

We are asking for two Bissell sweepers to use manually on the rug areas. In addition, we ask for two brooms and dust pans so we can get into the tight spaces the Roomba might not be able to get into. The spray mops will come in handy to clean up spills that often happen in the classroom during Breakfast in the Class. Many students often use their own personal pencil sharpener. Unfortunately, those personal pencil sharpeners never fail to open up and drop the pencil shavings all over the floor. Having the Linkyo Electric Sharpener will prevent pencil shavings to fall onto the floor.
