My Project

I asked my students what should we add to our classroom and the requested items are what they suggested!

Last week we had 5 days of inside recess.

Students loved using our STEM straw building kit to create a ceiling-tall replica of the Empire State Building. The students specifically asked for more straws and connectors so I would like to give them more straw building kits so they can continue to explore and create and build.

Additionally, they asked for more drawing supplies so I have requested scented markers because everyone loves scented markers. We have crayons but markers add another element of creativity.

The individual whiteboards have handles so students can hold up their answers and I can check to see who has understanding and who might need some additional support in small group worktime. We have some but the surfaces are rough and they do not erase as well as they should.

I also added some sensory items. We have an aromatherapy table where students can smell various candles. This is such a calming space in the classroom. They asked for more items for the table so the scented putty will be a great addition.
