My Project

A generous anonymous donor sent us a gift card. I decided to create a project where both teachers and students get one thing off their wish lists.

When I asked my students what they'd like for our classroom, they said... A GLOBE!

I haven't had a globe in any of my public school classrooms. I remember staring in awe as a young child when I turned the globe in my own kindergarten classroom. I want my students to have the tactile experience of exploring their world.

As for my teacher's wish... I've been wanting a vacuum for years! Our custodians aren't required to vacuum rugs, except for the group area rug. I have rugs all over my room to provide cozy places to sit and learn. My students deserve to sit on rugs that are clean and not covered in dirt, mud, glitter, and woodchips.
