My Project

There are several classroom updates that would greatly benefit my students in various ways. First, our classroom seating really needs updating-the kids love to sit on stools throughout the day, but the ones we have do not move well, are missing parts, and very old. The stools would give the students more flexible seating options and improve their classroom environment.

In addition, students use headphones most days for their classwork.

Many students are not able to afford to replace headphones during the year, as the break, wear out, etc. Our school does not provide these for students, so having a class set with a few extra pairs would make sure every student is able to access their individual needs for learning, especially math and reading lessons.

The requested bookcase is to replace one I have that is metal and potentially unsafe. It ha sharp edges and the contact paper I covered the top with will not stay attached. A new wooden one would provide a safer update for classroom books.

A new classroom rug would bring some warmth to the current space, since we spend a lot of time in front of the smartboard for lessons. Since the classroom is our "home away from home", this would create a more home-like, community feel.
