This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work in a Title I school in a low-income community. We do not have access to the best tech and sometimes it hurts the students' ability to learn effectively.
A laptop would benefit my classes in Social Studies.
I would use it to conference with my students. Having a laptop will help them to work on assignments efficiently. My students are enthusiastic to learn. They come from different experiences and we share this in our classroom. This laptop would aide in small group instruction - especially my ENL students - being able to communicate via writing using sites such Google translate to discuss classwork with them and them writing me back.
Having this laptop will help me reach out to families as well. I would be able to update parents how their children are doing and keep them updated on events happening in class and at school.
I work with my students every day in the classroom to the best of my abilities. I want to use this to help them to learn how to navigate technology as they continue their education in US History.
