This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in an urban, low-income/high poverty school my students experience a scarcity of resources in and out of school. They are excited to learn, but face obstacles not found in better-funded school districts. Things like crayons, pencils, and paper are appreciated but not expected.
My students want to learn but need the resources to do so.
My students are eager to learn and this project will help to engage them across all subjects! Please help make this project a reality!
My Project
I teach at a high-risk school in North Philly and would like to put a new MacBook in my classroom. This would allow me to fully integrate each student in a technology-based classroom. Many of my students have become more engaged and enthusiastic about school as I have introduced more technology into the classroom and I'm making a final push to ensure each student can access technology throughout the day and begin to increase their tech competency as they a fully immersed in a tech classroom.
We want o begin doing more interactive projects like making movies on iMovie, songs in Garage Band, and editing photos.
My students currently do not have access to that kind of technology and this project will help provide access to technology!
