Students in first grade are still learning how to love learning. My first graders have the added challenge of diversity in their cultures, needs, and academic achievement. To be successful, I want to instill a love of learning early in their lives.

My Project
With the diverse needs in my classroom, I am hoping to excite and challenge students with the use of technology, which is not easily accessible for my students in their everyday lives. With your donation, my students will be able to access technology and learn real life skills - computer skills. They will also be able to engage in interactive learning using the OSMO Genius package. This package has both literacy and math practice apps that engage students in academics through a fun and interactive manner. I plan to use this in stations for independent or group student practice. The iPad will allow students to use the OSMO Genius program as well as to access other academic programs for reading, writing, and math. The iPads will also be used to conduct research through the year so that students can be exposed to research-based learning.
Technology in the classroom not only helps students that need enrichment, but also the students that require interventions, practice, and those with special needs.
I want to help all access education in an inclusive manner through built in technology in the classroom.
