This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Differentiation is key in any classroom, especially within a classroom with so many different cultures and academic levels. My students need technology to help them overcome differences and achieve higher reading and mathematics levels.
My students come from the largest school district in the state of Connecticut.
We are also the largest school in our district. Most of my students live below the poverty line and in environments that are not conducive to learning. Even with these things going on around them, they make it to school every day and have an insatiable love of learning.
My Project
Tablet computers hold a multitude of educational apps that my students need to progress into the future of education. Students will need to be better acquainted with technology after finishing school to succeed in the workforce. What better way than to teach them how to access and use technology that is currently out there? With the iPad, the students will be able to accomplish many different tasks. They can use them for improving their reading skills, finding books that are appropriate for their reading levels, use them to improve their writing skills, improve their math skills with different applications, and incorporate Google Drive to collaborate with their peers.
Captivation and motivation are two important factors in educating our children today.
We live in a society where instant gratification and the use of technology are dominant. Please help me to keep my students up to par or better than the others. Together we can give them the edge they need to be competitive in a technologically driven market. Not only that, but we will also be able to give them the tools needed to enrich their own education.
