This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have not yet discovered their true potential academically. A few resources will help them discover it and prepare them for college!

My students are struggling readers and writers who need remedial help.

They attend school in a large district and city. Because my class is a remedial class, my students have previously experienced failure on standardized testing. My class is structured to help them experience success. Doing so will help them gain self-confidence and realize their full potential.

My Project

Each resource has a different use, but they all serve the same purpose of helping my students learn, grow and progress in their academic achievement. Because I use a specially designed computer program as a portion of my daily instruction, I have a good number of computers in my classroom. Unfortunately, three of the headsets are destroyed and I need to replace three of them for the software and usage of the computer program. The USB flash drive will stay in the classroom and will be used to save and store the students' projects. Because I have several computers in my classroom, the students will constantly be writing a series of papers and turning them into me electronically, upon which I will add comments to their paper electronically. Since the students will be working on their papers during class each day the USB flash drive will serve the purpose of keeping the students' files in class. They won't be able to forget their work. The pencil sharpener is self-explanatory.

My project is important because it will help to keep the students on task and provide the necessary equipment they will need to use the specially designed software (the headphones), and will help to keep my student's work and my responses back to them organized (the USB flash drive).

Furthermore, it will prepare them for academic work beyond high school graduation by teaching them of the importance of organization, hard work, and by working with technology.
