Help me give my students Fire Tablets for our reading and writing lessons and activities
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Riggs's classroom raised $358

My Students
I'm so thrilled to have 4th graders who love reading and writing. My students surprise me each week with the tenacity and fearlessness they summon to tackle increasingly difficult texts and tasks. As a former music teacher, I love that my students are interested and enlivened by analogies and connections to the arts in our literacy lessons.
My students love any opportunity they can find to engage in self-expression through writing and discussion.
I'm honored to be the facilitator on the learning journey.
My Project
My students are used to using technology in our classroom. As a neurodivergent (I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder) teacher, I find the use of paper to complete activities extremely difficult for myself and my students. In our classroom, reading, writing, exit tickets, collaborative work, etc. is all done on the screen. Our classroom collection of tablets have served us well over the years, but some are no longer functioning or starting to indicate they won't be functioning for much longer!
These small tablets will be perfect for reading digital materials in our 4th grade classroom.
Additionally, they will allow students to write and publish their own original narratives in digital form.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
