Help me give my students materials to support their learning in phonics. The Sound tubs are a nice resource for my Kindergartners to get their hands on items that begin with that letter.
I have known since a young age that I have wanted to be a teacher. I was inspired, pushed and encouraged by so many wonderful teachers who have supported me through my struggles of learning. It was during my high school years that I learned the world of Special Education held a huge piece of my heart. I am so thankful to be working as an Intervention Specialist at a Title l school. As a Title l school, we have a high number of children from low-income families and we help ensure that all children meet challenging state standards.
As an Interventionist I wear several different hats, I wear hats that require me to balance IEPs, collect data to improve student growth, work with students who struggle behaviorally and still encourage them to never give up and work towards their goals.
My Project
These materials would be a great addition to my students learning. The sound tubs would be great for my non readers who still need support in learning their sounds and letters. Many of my students struggle to relate their learning to everyday life.
These letter sound tubs and other items would help my students bridge that gap from learning to real life.
My students will be able to play matching games and other things with the tubs. My students will also work on their sorting and matching skills while learning their letter sounds. I have attempted to create my own tubs but have struggled to find all the items I need. This will help in so many ways.
