Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are bright, resilient, and enthusiastic learners who are part of a vibrant dual language program. Every day, they work hard to develop literacy and academic skills in both English and Spanish. Many come from homes with limited resources, but their determination and love of learning shine through.

In our dual language classroom, students need access to a wide range of school supplies to support learning across two languages.

I am requesting materials such as bilingual dictionaries, notebooks, colored folders, whiteboards, markers, sticky notes, book bins, and anchor chart paper to help students stay organized and actively engaged in both languages.

These supplies will help students:

-Practice writing and reading in both English and Spanish

-Organize their work clearly between the two languages

-Collaborate on bilingual projects

-Express their ideas creatively with visual supports

-Promote active sitting, posture, and focus

By providing these materials, we can ensure all students have the tools they need to succeed, whether writing an essay in English, reading a story in Spanish, or switching between both during a discussion.

Dual language education builds cognitive flexibility, academic strength, and cultural pride. Your donation will directly support this powerful learning journey, giving my students the resources to grow as bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural learners.
