My Students

The students attend a small culturally diverse charter school in Southern California. Many of these students face language challenges, economic or family challenges, but they all show up excited and ready to learn. 100% of our students participate in the free and reduced price lunch program and come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Many of these students are English Learners with limited resources at home to help them thrive.

For many, our school and my classroom are only safe places for these students to explore, make mistakes, and be free as learners.

My Project

I am requesting pencils, organizers, and notebooks to help and provide my students with individual organizing drawers and drawing supplies to work in class. These pencils and notebooks will get them opportunities to draw and stay calm while in class. The organizers will give them places to keep their work in place.

All my students are from low-income families, providing these materials in class would be a big help to support families and the students.

The ability to provide them with their own school supplies and an area to keep their items will bring excitement to learning.

This project will provide necessary supplies to help keep their learning environment safe. Students love to have their own school supplies!
