Our students each add their own unique characteristics to the classroom. From a detailed sketch to a fictitious story or an animated reenactment, our class is filled with passionate, creative minds, yearning to expand their learning and communicate in individual ways with the world around them. Each student cares for others and desires to share their knowledge and make friends. Their excitement to learn and share new knowledge is addicting.
The students serviced in our classroom are in special education and have an IEP.
Most of the students are either on the autism spectrum or are diagnosed as other health impaired. They are from low-income families and benefit from donations to aid with personal care. They struggle with behavior and academic problems and need additional help and accommodations to meet their needs to increase the probability of success in the school environment. Weekly our students are given social skills lessons to help better prepare them for communicating with the outside world.
My Project
These classroom supplies will make the classroom enjoyable and comfortable. The lights will create a calming ambiance instead of fluorescent lights that are in the classroom. The speaker will give the students the opportunity to listen to calming music while working. The fidget toys will allow students to destress when they need to. The students will benefit from all the supplies and it will create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for students to learn and be stress-free. The students that are in my classroom are in a classroom with no windows and this will help students be able to relax in the classroom.
