Classroom Supplies

Help me give my students a few different options for seating in my classroom and some other ways to use manipulatives for learning.

My Students

My students are very unique. I have students that range from Kindergarten to Fifth grade and they are in and out of classroom throughout the day. I work with special education students that each have a different need to make their school experience successful. Many of my students like project based activities and games. Reading and writing is very difficult for all of them so we try to come up with way to make it fun!

For example they really enjoy writing their spelling words by molding them into playdoh.

We also have done some math problems by shooting basketballs in the gym and then adding or subtracting based on the number of balls we shoot. These are just a few examples of how my students learn and how we make learning fun in my classroom.

My Project

Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During small group times and cool down times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: at different tables, sitting under tables with clip boards, or sitting or laying on the floor with a clip board. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating.

The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices.

I have seen how choice can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!

I have also chosen many options for students to use for manipulatives in their learning. The playdoh and stamps can help students who have a hard time writing and can use it to spell in a more fun way of molding words with it.
