My Students
I ge t the pleasure of teaching a wonderful group of second graders who absolutely love learning! My students are active learners. They are always moving, wondering, making hypotheses, asking questions, and wanting to research their answers. My second grade class is made up of 20 students who come to school eager to learn and grow. Our Kindergarten through sixth grade school is part of a community made of caring and active students, and supportive staff. While almost 25% of our students come from low-income families, our staff works hard to give each of our students exactly what they need to feel successful and safe everyday.
My Project
The bins from School Specialty will be used as student book bins in my classroom. My kids will book "shop" weekly from our library and keep the books they want to read for that week in their own bin. They will also use this bin to store their reading journal, folder, and headphones.
Having a personal space to store their own book choices gives my students a sense of responsibility and ownership of their books.
It also creates and encourages a love for learning and reading. These high quality bins will be used for many years and will be put to good use!
The flair pens will be used while revising and editing writing assignments and the Expo markers will be used on our white boards.
