Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. I teach in a Title I school with half of my students being second language learners and half being on free or reduced lunch. Two of my students have an IEP and seven receive daily academic intervention. Three of my students receive counseling services for behavior issues. Many of my students are economically disadvantaged and do not have exposure to STEM resources outside of the classroom. The benefits of coding would be endless.
My Project
My students will use the writing tools to support their fine-motor development while making writing fun. They will also be able to continue their work without disruptions because the pencils are mechanical, and will not need to be sharpened. The Mr. Sketch markers are long lasting and sustain their ink much longer. They also smell good which makes writing more engaging for the students and helps with focus for those needing extra support. The colored folders will be used for storing student work for reading work, writing work, and other class work in an organized and neat manner. Support for our class learning is greatly appreciated.
