Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are diverse learners who come from low-income families. The students I work with are of Hispanic and African-American descent and come eager to learn and master new skills everyday. The students I provide services for come from diverse backgrounds with various academic and social-emotional needs. I have had the opportunity to work with these students for many years and have seen how much they have grown academically and socially.

My goal has always been to create a classroom where students feel important, encouraged, cared for, and excited about learning!

My Project

This past school year was one for the books. My students were absolute rock stars and engaged in distance learning AND in person learning.

The students I work with come to school each and everyday and I want to give them all the supplies needed as we gear up to start a new year.

Many of my students spend the majority of their day with me where we work upon skills they have previously mastered and attack new skills in different ways based on their individual needs. Having classroom supplies readily available to my students when they enter my room help helps limit distractions and loss of instructional time.
