Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are extremely special. They are a diverse group of scholars with hearts of gold. My school is a lower income, Title One school, but they work hard daily to overcome daily hardships in order to have a successful future.

Covid 19 has resulted in a great deal of learning loss, particularly with our third grade struggling readers.

The pandemic has impacted the reading levels of the students, and my class is comprised of students who range from kindergarten to early third grade reading levels. It is difficult to meet the needs of my struggling readers as the third grade curriculum is too rigorous for their current levels. Access to quality reading texts will be really meaningful for strategic, small group instruction. I will be able to meet the needs of my students. Having materials for students who struggle with literacy will be life-changing for them.

Additionally, access to a classroom printer, motivational rewards, and other important supplies would make a great impact on these wonderful students. Organized, accessible supplies can really make a difference. Having the necessary supplies would greatly aid my amazing scholars to reach the success they deserve! Thank you for helping us!
