Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are inquisitive, bright young individuals from all over the world. Some are here because they sought refuge from their own countries which aren't safe. They left behind gang violence and poverty and made harrowing journeys to come to the United States, many experiencing extreme dangers and tests of physical endurance.
They face the struggle of holding on to their culture and assimilating into the American culture and starting a new life here in America.
Today they attend an American school and are learning to adapt to realities very different than those they left behind. Nonetheless, they have big dreams! They dream of learning English, helping their families, and reaching their full potential of having a great life. With your help, we can help them acquire the tools and skills to reach those goals.
My Project
Please help my students by supplying markers to write their spelling words and their fun stories! The class supplies for reading comprehension will assist my students in building their literacy and comprehension skills.
Teaching language learners how to read and write is such an important task!
The Reading Rockets will help them learn how to build words through play. The graphic organizers will assist me in teaching them their spelling words through fun graphic organizers! My students are so very appreciative of the generosity from strangers who want to ensure their success in developing literacy skills they will be able to use for the rest of their lives! Tomorrow's future is in MY classroom! Please help me give them the best chance for success!
