My Students

Each year, I am blessed with an amazing group of children, who I learn from daily. They come in each morning with so much to share with the class and me. They are full of life and want to share that with everyone around them. At the beginning of the school year, my students enter second grade as shy first graders. However, when they leave for third grade they are strong, confident, and determined. Being part of this process is what makes teaching so beautiful.

My Project

As this school year comes to an end, and I begin looking forward to September, I reflect on the supplies that my classroom will need for the upcoming year. I have been going through my classroom and thinking about what students used and needed the most during our writing block. These materials will help to keep my students organized and focused. When students have materials easily accessible to them, it allows them to stay on task and focused. If students have to move around and look for materials it tends to lead to students getting distracted and becoming off task. The table caddies are large enough to house all of our necessary writing materials. This will avoid students getting up and going to the writing center. Which will also eliminate traffic around the room. Having a durable electric pencil sharpener will allow students to sharpen pencils quickly, allowing them to get back to work quicker. The bins will be a place for students to keep all of their writing organized.
