This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work in a Title I school where not all families are able to purchase all items on their school supply lists. Additionally, my school does not always have the funds to provide me with certain materials. For example, last year, it took a few weeks before we got our box of printer paper. My students deserve to start their year off right and feel well-prepared for school.

No one should feel singled out because they weren't able to get all their supplies.

Additionally, these supplies will help me to run a low-tech class, avoiding as much screen time as possible. Research shows that learning takes undivided attention, which is hard to get on a Chromebook. New on my school supply list are agendas, so I've included some basic agendas for students who may not be able to procure their own.

With your help, I'd love to be able to start the year with the materials we'll need, including whiteboards, paper, and folders, to establish healthy and productive learning routines.
