it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom consists of many diverse learners who come from different backgrounds and cultures throughout New York City. We are located in a Title 1 school where 94% of the population is entitled to a free lunch. Our school vision is to educate the whole child while instilling a passion for lifelong learning. It is my goal as an educator to ensure that my students have the best resources available to foster this love of learning.
My first grade students are extremely hardworking.
They are enrolled in a Dual Language program which means they alternate days learning in English with me and Spanish with another teacher. Since my students learn two languages at once, my colleague and I like to incorporate song, dance, and technology to enhance their learning experience.
My Project
The materials I am requesting will help keep my first graders and classroom organized! Since I teach the English portion of the Dual Language program, I have two sets of classes which means two sets of everything- tests, homework, notes, you name it! Being the teacher of 46 wonderful and hardworking children, we need the proper storage to keep all of our work and supplies. The children often misplace their work or supplies since they alternate days with me and another teacher. These carts will help my students significantly! I will be able to designate a cart for each class so we never run into the issue of mixing up and losing our work!
