My Project
I love to support my students in every way, so being able to fill their bellies so they are ready to learn helps my students, and it also supports us building a wonderfully successful, caring classroom. All of my students eat breakfast and lunch at school and sometimes the options are not filling or something they don't eat.
The kindergarten students get the same amount of food as my third graders.
Can you imagine my growing third-grade boys being filled with a hot dog? Well no, they are still hungry, so I try to provide a healthy snack for when they are still hungry. I can't expect my students to be ready to work hard with their bellies growling, so I always have a bin of just-in-case breakfast and lunch extras for my students.
My classroom is a place my students should feel safe, and I want to make sure they have their basics so we can maximize learning time.
