My sixth grade students are an inquisitive group of children from diverse backgrounds and cultures. They are always excited to learn and grow, while still having fun. These children come from low-income households, which means they do not always have access to materials to extend their education.
My students are always willing to learn and jump at the chance to do something new and fun.
I want my students to be successful and enjoy their schooling. With their willingness, I would love to provide them with a fun learning experience that involves reading!
My Project
There is a lot going on during these times and we need to try to keep spirits up. I want to start the beginning of the year by talking about kindness and everyone being unique.
This classroom set of Wonder will allow my students to learn more about seeing differences and being open to them.
This story is set during a middle school time and it talks about standing up for each other.
These books will help me teach a unit to these students and provide them with their own text to use.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
