Help me give my students tablets to help them improve their 21st-century skills and engage them in learning content that can be individually modified and paced for my students’ needs.
I am a special education teacher in a 1st and 2nd-grade bridge classroom within a school serving students from low-income households.
My 12 students are a diverse group of learners with highly individualized needs.
They are eager to learn, have grit, and persist through challenging experiences.
My students are highly motivated by technology but have limited access to it. A classroom set of tablets would give my students access to daily learning experiences that would help them develop their technology literacy, which is an important 21st-century skill.
My Project
Tablets would give my students an abundance of new and engaging learning tools and content. They would gain access to electronic books, virtual math manipulatives, apps to help with letter formation and learning sight words, as well as other educational apps.
By donating to this project, you will not only be developing and improving my students’ 21st Century learning skills, but you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement through engaging and personalized learning experiences.
The tablets will give my students access to technology-based learning experiences that they otherwise wouldn’t have access to. They will also help me further differentiate my lessons in order to give my students the tools they need to reach their individual goals.
