it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my wonderfully active pre-k classroom, much of my students' initial learning is spent in group time in the meeting area of the class listening to stories, asking questions, learning new concepts, sharing ideas while working together. Your wonderful donation will allow us to attain a large rug that will be placed in the center of the classroom to create a perfect learning environment for our meeting area and literacy/ library center. Its design provides a simple, effective layout to help the young ones learn seamlessly, establish boundaries; while the calming circles design serves as visual cues for young learners to sit on and practice mindfulness. The small rug will be used in the block center to aid with reducing sounds and ground level vibration while my students use wooden blocks to foster and cultivate mathematical thinking, abstract thinking, creativity, imagination and social skills.
Having a clean meeting area and block center rug in my pre-k classroom will provide comfortable learning spaces that aid with increasing social, teaching and learning experiences for the youngest set of students at my Title One school.
