This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A classroom rug is super important, especially for second graders during mini lessons. The rug gives students a comfy spot to sit while they listen and learn. At this age, the students are still learning how to stay focused for longer periods, so having a cozy spot on the floor can help them focus better during mini lessons. The rug helps define a space for students to gather around for group lessons.
Sitting on the rug can make learning feel more relaxed and fun.
Kids are more likely to participate, ask questions, and share their thoughts when they’re in a comfortable space. The rug also creates a space where all the kids can sit together, making them feel like part of the group.
A vacuum is also a must-have in the classroom. Since the students will spend a lot of time close to the floor, it’s important to keep things clean. A vacuum helps remove dust, dirt, and allergens, which makes the classroom a healthier place for the kids to learn and play.
