My students need a comfortable rug to sit on that is close to the board while we complete our whole class lessons.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Ever try to learn and keep up with others when you have a difficult time following the lesson because of poor eyesight or ADD?
I work at a small, wonderful school filled with eager students from low income backgrounds.
They want to learn, but often need a little extra "something". I often have students that need glasses that their parents can't afford or have difficulty focusing in a desk surrounded by other students. A large rug close to our board will help these students focus and learn.
My Project
A rug will be a great benefit for my students. The current space in front of the board is cold and bare. It is crossed by cords and not a very inviting place to learn. Not only will it help the individual students that need extra support, but would also be great for whole class activities that would benefit from a cozy approach.
The low-income children in my classroom deserve every opportunity to succeed.
It is the small things, like a rug on which to learn, that could make a difference in a child's success or failure.
