My students need a new rug. The one we currently have is very old and falling apart.
3-5 year old children are curious and enjoy investigating the world around them. This is a wonderful trait, but when they are more focused on the rug they are sitting on, and more importantly the strings they can pull to unravel it . . . this makes learning difficult.
My students are exceptional!
They range in age from 3-5 years and have a wide array of disabilities. My ultimate goal for my students is to have them ready to confidently enter kindergarten without further special education supports needed. This involves helping them as much as possible during their time in my classroom and pouring my heart into their progress.
The rug that we currently have in our ECSE classroom is old, stained, and unraveling. While it is very important for my students to have a specific area for group activities, our current rug is becoming more of a distraction than a tool to their success.
Getting a new rug for my classroom is very important to the success of my students.
We use our rug multiple times every day. It helps my students learn personal boundaries and gives them a tangible way to remember where they are supposed to sit (and stay sitting) during group times.
