Our class transformation to flexible workspaces is well underway! We are currently creating a space where 4th graders can be most successful. Our math and science curriculums require a lot of partner/group work, which requires plenty of spaces to work and discuss within the room.
I want to offer my scholars lap desks and a rug in our classroom as options to work around the room more successfully!
Currently we learn at our desks, at small group tables, and on the floor. Giving my scholars the opportunity to have a classroom rug would allow them to work virtually anywhere within the room with their partners more comfortably than sitting on the floor. By doing this it will enable more conversations between partners without being distracted by having another group right next to them.
