My Students

My students live in a neighborhood plagued with high levels of poverty. At home, they face issues like hunger, gang activity, and crime. For many of these students, the school provides a safe place to ensure more opportunities for a successful future.

In my classroom, I strive to create an environment that makes students feel comfortable and welcome despite the struggles they may face away from school.

These students love to research and explore as much as possible to expand their knowledge base and open their minds to new ideas. I’d like to add to the available resources these students can access to make their learning experience as positive as possible.

My Project

Students are going to be asked to have coding and programming skills when they enter the workforce. In order to practice these skills, students need access to devices that teach relevant skills. Relying on outdated materials and techniques is a disservice in this day and age.

Each student needs the opportunity to engage in relevant and exciting materials that will prepare them for their future college and career path.

A Cozmo robot is a fantastic tool that allows these students to interact with programming and coding software and apps, while also stimulating student interest. What is cooler than allowing students to have a robot as a classroom pet?
