Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A student's biggest challenge is their ownership and confidence in learning.
Our students travel on average an hour or more to and from school.
Our students are diverse and charismatic with a bunch of heart. However one of the hardest obstacles to student development is resources of all types. Either limited by classroom size or just local geography there could always be more resources to develop positive learning experiences.
My Project
The resources I am requesting will help to continue a hands on learning approach. Geometry is the type of math in which many interesting manipulative's may be used to deepen an investigation. Expanding the use of these resources in our classroom will help to broaden and strengthen our student learning. Included in my proposal I have submitted requests for 10 Classic Polyhedra Origami books, a Patty Paper Geometry Book and Geoboards.
and Patty Paper Geometry Student Workbook , Geometry Solids mini set of 32, and Classroom 7" Geoboard Set. The use of hands on manipulative's like origami, patty paper constructions and activities, simple geometry solids, and a geoboard will provide both kinesthetic and enrich opportunities for our students.
Reinforcing positive learning experiences through the use of simple manipulative's helps to develop courage and confidence, so vital to a students development.
The donation of these resources will embody a classroom spirit and will for learning.
